Championship Golf International Announces The 25th Annual TaylorMade Father and Son Invitational St. Andrews, Scotland
We are pleased to announce that the 25th edition of this special event will be played June 16 - 21, 2012 at one of the world's true landmark golf locations and an original home to our father and son event.
The Links at St. Andrews is one of the oldest and most famous golf courses in the world. Located in picturesque and historically rich Scotland, St. Andrews has drawn golfers since the fifteenth century. There is even written documentation of King James IV of Scotland playing golf there in the early sixteenth century. In a very real sense, St. Andrews is the home of modern golf.
Join us for a tournament that is much more than a golf event. Since 1986, fathers and sons of all ages have been coming together to not only compete with other fathers and sons, but to also share lives filled with experiences and memories that golf brings to us all.
We look forward to seeing you at St. Andrews, Scotland!
2011 Champions

2011 Gross Champions David and Daniel Brainard
2011 Net Champions Jerry Van Dyke and Russell Packwood |
The 24th annual TaylorMade Father and Son Invitational was played under warm and sunny skies at one of America’s finest resorts. The Greenbrier lived up to all expectations for golfer and non-golfer alike. This historic venue has played host to both the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup, and currently hosts an annual PGA Tour event. And golf is only a part of the experience The Greenbrier has to offer. Rich in American tradition, this should be a must-visit on anyone’s golfing list.
We crowned a new Gross Champion team this year. David and Daniel Brainard edged out a competitive field, including 2010 champions Mitch and Todd Steller to capture this year’s crown. Daniel recently graduated from University of California Riverside and this was the perfect graduation/Father’s day celebration for the family. Steve and Jonathan Goldstein finished runner-up again with steady play, but not enough birdies. As is usually the case, the team with the low final round hoisted the Championship Trophy.
The low net championship was won by first time participants Jerry Van Dyke and Russell Packwood. Part of a large contingent from the South Hills Country Club in West Covina, California, the duo hung on after building a large 36-hole lead to capture a title that they felt was out of their grasp. “We were excited to be invited to play. Winning is way past anything we could have imagined.” Win they did, and in grand style. Some clutch putting by Russell down the stretch was the key to securing the victory.
The 24th Annual edition of this special event was held at a legendary American resort. The 25th Anniversary of the TaylorMade Invitational returns to where it all began, the most legendary of all golf destinations – St. Andrews, Scotland.
