* Day trip to Edinburgh (admission to Edinburgh Castle included)

St. Andrews – This local tour takes in Cathedral Ruins dating from the 12th century.  Within the Cathedral grounds panoramic views can be enjoyed from the top of St. Rule’s Tower (or Square Tower as named by the locals).   Standing close to the remains of the Cathedral is St. Andrews Castle.  Formerly an Episcopal palace, fortress and state prison, the ruined courtyard castle dating in part from the 13th Century is protected by steep cliffs to the north and east, while rock-cut ditches once defended the landward approaches.  The Castle once boasted a gatehouse and towers at each corner, one of which contained a bottle dungeon cut into the rock which is still evident today.  Guests will also visit a host of other venues of historical and cultural interest.
